DirectX question.....

I've got a question for you guys. I just reinstalled BF2 for the first time in a couple months. During installation it required the install of DirectX 9.0c. Here's my question. I already had the updated version of 9.0c installed, yet BF2 made me install thiers. So, does installing the 9.0c from the BF2 disk 'overwrite' the updated version I already had running or is it smart enough to realize it didnt need to be installed?

it might have been a little higher revision that what you have say like 9.0.123 is yours and theirs is 9.0.1234....

No, you missunderstand. I have the CURRENT DirectX 9.0c December edition. So, the dx on the BF2 disk has got to be older. My question is will the older version overwrite the new version?
