directx 9.0c problem

I've installed directx 9.0c in my system but it keeps showing 9.0b and the 9.0c takes less than a second to install. Does any one have a solution to this problem.

If it takes less than a second to install, it never got installed in the first place.Are you sure you have the correct direct -X files and downloaded it from a legit source?. And also , kill all the background tasks , like norton protect,any AV's...and try to install again.
