Desktop Calendar/Post-Its??

I have been searching for a program that will allow me to basically use "Post-It Notes" on my desktop, but I can't find a program like that anywhere.

And/Or I have also been looking for an interactive calendar that I can put on my desktop where I can tasks and times for certain dates.

Both of these would be free, broke/cheap college student ya know!
