dell Reinstallation disc...

I want to reformat my hardrive and I have the Dell Windows XP Reinstallation disc but I cannot find a product key for it. I was wondering if you need product keys/cd keys for the dell discs or if they are like built in.

Product key is on the side of the case. Usually you don't need the key if you use the Dell disk, though. You could also google for Magic JellyBean keyfinder, and install that; it'll find the key for you.

What hardware failure? There are so many parts what error code does it give?

if you have a dell xp cd and a dell computer, you don't need a serial. a dell xp cd can detect a dell bios and automatically generate a serial for you
