Looking for free s/w that will erase CDs and DVDs? Does anyone know of any?

CD/DVD-RW's: Nero has something in it that erases all the info off of 'em. Or you can just open it up in Explorer and remove the files that way...
CD/DVD-R: Break it. You can't 'erase' the data off of a regular recordable disc.

You need a DVD-RW or CD-RW Disk to erase, so make sure you do (just DL Nero Trial) [don't get confused with DVD-R or CD-R, it can only be written to it once]

InCD from Nero. It is not installed by default you have to customize your install and select it.

InCD is packet writing software. It's used to format an RW disk for packet writing. Nero Burning ROM does the job of erasing RW disks.

Of course it's not free. CDBurnerXP should be able to do the job just fine. I've personally not had luck with the software. It's either not worked with the drive or clobbered other burning applications, but others say it works.
