Default Folder | Wich registry key?

Hey guys,

Everytime when I install a program it wants to install in Program Files

Wich registry key do I have to edit to change it to another folder?

Why would you want to install elsewhere? Windows is setup to use the program files folder, not to mention the fact that having all yer programs install to PF makes things nice and neat.

You could probably do a registry search for "Program Files" or a directory string. I honestly don't install software outside of PF often enough to care.

if I would install all progs in PF my backup-image would get very big

If you don't want your programs to be backed-up, tell your backup program to ignore that directory.

I install no apps on C: because of the way I set up my partitions, also

Windows is going to address the primary installation drive. I've checked the registry, and yer gonna have to change a HELL of a lot of keys to cover all the bases, and you probably won't get them all.

Seriously, though...What're'ya installing 30 apps a day or something? Just point the installs where you want them. Programs usually should be run on the primary drive for speed issues and integration issues. If your C: partition is too small, make it bigger, or don't have partitions.

The days of 2gig C: drives are over! My home C: drive is 250gigs.
