Just install it. It will ask to be activated just do it. If it gives you issues then when you have to call M$ tell them you had a serious HDD crash and had to re-install.

If you bought it retail and it wasn't an upgrade but a full version you simply install Windows and then go online for the activation once you know Windows is up and running good. It's seems that since Vista was released you can reinstall Windows more then a limited amount of time within a certain period as long as you now use the Windows validation tool from Microsoft whe going for all of the updates you have to download again after.

Originally if you reinstalled XP more then once within two months time you had to call MS for them to have you enter one command, read off a number, and then type a new number in. They found that too time consuming apparently.
