Default .dat files

I've got a couple .dat files i want to view. I'm running win2k pro. Anyone know what database program i need to view them? I tried access but it won't read a .dat file. Any ideas?

Nah, notepad doesn't let you see the file properly. I found a program on the net that opend the dat files. I'm aware that dat files are usually windows system files, or otherwise, files that they don't want you to open. The trick is to either find a program to convert them, or find a program that opens them alltogether.

Thanks though. Already took care of it.
