But can I brush my teeth with it?

Anyway the objective is for me to be able to login to my Unix shell account from my work computer.
Naturally the firewall blocks telnet/port 23 etc so I can't login with telnet.
I've tried using a web java applet telnet but this also fails, presumably because port 23 is still used.

I figure I can use some sort of web proxy, with telnet comming off of the proxy's port23?

A) Is this going to work?

B) Can someone point me in the direction of an appropriate, Free, Web proxy? :D

Cheers!!

Try SSH, port 22, use puTTy. Make sure SSH daemon is running on your UNIX box.

Its probably block from your work too no? What port is open, just 80? you can tunnel through it or change the default port to something that is open.

the firewall is blocking everything except the browser so any other app, telnet, puTTy etc will not work.

I'm pretty locked down here, citrix win2k client with pretty much everything nailed down and, I imagine, a very expensive corporate hardware firewall.

I can't make any changes to the Unix server as Its not mine, I just have a user account. I think port 23 is the only option but I'll check to see if any other ports are open.

Oh! I thought you own the Unix server from home and was trying to access it from work. I read it all backward
