Is there somewhere where you can download the contens of a windows 98 CD or a windows xp full version? my friend lost both of them that I lent to him a while back, so a possible repair or fresh install is out of the question right now, maybe i will go to a pc shop and see if they'd let me use their cd however unethical that is lol.

There is no place to get it from a http download. You would have to use torrents.

Hey Maka, I believe a got a torrent that will work for my problem. It's an .iso file and from comments that I've seen from other who have downloaded it works, so how I would go on from here after I download the .iso file. I tried to just straight burn it to a blank cd, but it didnt seem to work when I put it in the cd drive. It didn't recognize it, any ideas on what the process is after downloading it? google didn't seem to help much. VRMHOEM_EN.iso is the file I'm talking about.

Burn the ISO.

Burning ISO Images with ImgBurn - NeoSmart Technologies Wiki

Then do a repair install. But make sure of 2 things. 1. That you have your serial handy. It is now required while doing the repair installs. 2. That the version you have matches your OS.

OEM or Retail and Home or Pro.

Yes. The CD key. Also known as the COA or Certificate of Authentication.
