Consering Reformat And Installing X64

Ok, my current OS (Windows XP Pro) is going to ****, so I was wondering how good X64 is? I've tried it before, and my memory recalls it not being that good b/c lotsa progs didn't work on it. So, I was wondering, what works on it. I play counter strike source so will that work along with running steam..? How bout avast!, spybot, and adaware? Firefox? And other general progs? What do you think?? Thanks in advance!!

2 partitions on your HD, one for each OS, or run a 2nd HD which would be safer. Dual boot normally isn't recommended as it always seems to have problems somehow or another...I'm sure if you were careful though it'd be okay.

reformat and when it says make partitions, make 2, one for each OS
