Default Configuring WinMX

Can anyone possibly help me in regards to configuring winmx 3.53. behind a firewall(zone alert) and anti virus(mcafee). OS is XP and PC is hooked up to University Network. Downloads off of webpages are 100k/s and when I download off of WinMX, it's like, less then 1k/s. Consistently. Can anyone forward me the settings for WinMX so I can actally download something???? Thanks

Are you getting 1k/s downloads on anything you download through winmx....reason i ask is because winmx can be really slow not matter how many sources there is for a file
