My PC at work runs really slow. Does running the local systems tools (such as disc clean up and defrag) actually have an effect? The reason im asking is because my PC is a client within a large Network and therefore, shouldn't the server software (located on a fileserver) administer these functions from there?

many thanks -
Clark

Yes they have a HUGE effect. You should run the disc defrag and disc cleanup once a month at least.

Depends on your network admin. If they just have a file server for you that you are accessing, they probably aren't doing much else to upkeep your computer other than maybe virus protection. Obviously each office environment is different so you really should consult your IT professional to see what they actually do for you.

You should have your IT guys take a look at the PC.
