THIEF2.EXE

That is what is freezing. Are yo uplaying Thief 2? Cause if so then the game is what is freezing up on you. What OS you running, have you got all the updates for hte game and system and have you checked temps, spyware and viruses?

Hi Mak213, Thanks for your response. The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0). I've also got DirectX 10. I have Norton Internet security and I carried out a scan with that and it came back fine. How can I check temps and spyware?

Hi Ste, Sorry for being dumb but how do I check processes and make sure they are not malicous?

Hi Folks, actually my computer doesn't stall it's the game that stalls/freezes. Sorry for the confusion.

Regards,

Damo

Get SP1 for Vista. Make sure you have the rest of the updates. What are your system specs? After googling it seems that the game is jsut fine running under Vista. This issue is isolated to you.

Here's the system info. I'm sure I have sp1 for Vista already.

Google for DirectX Aug 2008. Install that and see what happens. The reason why i said install SP1 is cause you said you had Home Premium 6.0 but didnt include the build number. (6001)

So i didnt think you had it.

Hi Mak213, I installed the DirectX Aug 2008 and unfortunately I'm having the same problem. When I do a run command with DxDiag, the system information tells me I am using DirectX 10. Does this sound right to you? should I have a different version after the install? Thanks for your help on this one.

Regards,

Damo
