Exclamation Computer Hangs on Resolution Change

Any time I change graphics resolution or color depth settings in a game, my monitor goes black and I can't get anything back. Sometime sound still plays, which indicates just a graphics problem, but other times the sound starts skipping (broken record) or dies altogether as well.

This has happened so far in both Vendetta online and Gunz the Duel

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.2GHz
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 320
ViewSonic LCD @ 1680x1050

\"I\'ll do it cheap, I\'ll do it fast, or I\'ll do it well. You can only choose two.\"

Hi Cunjo.

Have you tried turning your monitor on then off a few times? also have you got the new drivers for your card?

Visit this and do something for the world!

Does your screean frease then, any chopiness while playing videos or games in particular, does turning the volume up loud have an adverse affect, are any other games affected besides those you mentioned, does this hapen while changing resolution ingame only. Questions related to hardware problems, grafix card and power scource. Whats the errorlog at the time of the computer malfunction say(somtimes helps), could easilly be a software issue, you can reset your dirctx, you may have to reinstall those games; or try a different driver; I better quit before I have to name this chapter one.
