I have machine, operating Windows XP Pro, that just freezes on the loading screen. I can't even get it to boot into safe mode. Anyone know what I can do to get into it to troubleshoot? I will re-image if needed, just wondering if anyone had any tricks. Mak?

Try booting using last known good configuration. This option is available in the boot options list when you hit F8.
Failing that, the next thing I would do is check the hard disk for errors - you'll need a Windows XP setup disc for this. Boot into the setup disc, and load the recovery console. Once logged into the recovery console, type CHKDSK X: /R and hit enter (where X: is the volume where the OS is installed). Post back here with your results.

I will try it. Not sure if I can even get to the set up menu, yet. I will post again when I know.
I managed to get to the HDD diagnostics and am running a test based on the symptoms: "OS won't boot". Waiting for results.
