Default Compressing files

I downloaded something that is 2 GB in size. What is the best way to compress it as small as possible to send to another computer? Thanks in advance.

Well the only thing would be to zip it up with Winzip or Winrar for compression. But to find a host that will allow you to send 2GB is another trick. You would have to hook up via messenger or something. Burning to DVD would probably be the fastest thing.
