?? from a complete linux newbie

Hey all... I recently DL'ed RH9 to play with on this machine (dual boot with Win2K) and have a couple questions I've been unable to find a real good answer for. When mounting another partition, I get it to happen just fine when i do the "mount -t vfat" deal from a terminal window. I need to automount it on boot. I realize it's as "simple" as adding the mount command to some textfile somewhere... but what file do i put it in? And in y'all's opinion, what's the most newbie-proof config file editor to use? Is there a GUI version of the configuration files anywhere or am I pretty much gonna have to bite the bullet at the command line? I would RTFM, but I dunno really where to start searching for such basic tips.
