'cmd' command error

I was trying to follow some online instructions... and #1 was to do Start>Run then type in cmd . When I do that I get this error that says:

Cannot find the file 'cmd' (or one of it's components).  Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.

What's the deal?

From your os listed in sig its Win98? For 98 you have to type COMMAND.

'CMD' will only work in 2000/XP.
