Default clear page file at shutdown

hi, just wondering, is it really worth it to clear the page file at shutdown? i have a 500 some meg PF with 384 meg ram windows xp pro pentium 3 1 ghz, it takes about 2 - 3 minutes sometimes more to clear the page file and im wondering...is it really worth it? supposedly it helps security. I am somewhat into security but im not paranoid...

Well, it's all dependant on personal preference. In some cases, it can help speed up pc performance upon reboot, note though, it can take longer to shut down as it wipes the page file.

Start Regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management
Select ClearPageFileAtShutdown from the list on the right.
Right on it and select Modify.
Change the value to 1 to enable.
Reboot your computer.
