I used a Win98 Computer and my CD Drive is a 52x, 80min, and 700MB. When I inserted it in, it won't load and the mouse pointer blinks repeatably. And when I use some other computers with a WinXP Application, it works. Tell me what's wrong with my drive?

The disk isnt auto running or it is not compatible with Windows 98.

I don't know what to believe but some people at the computer store said that it wasn't the application I'm using. The CD-ROM should work. I don't know why my disk don't want to read for some reason. I think there is a problem with my drive.

Again i repeat. The AUTO RUN FEATURE IS NOT PRESENT. When you insert your CD there is a thing called AutoRun which makes the CD Run right away. It was not Present in Windows 98!!!!

Open My Computer double click on the CD and it will work. If it doesn't then the CD is NOT COMPATIBLE with Windows 98. IT is a Windows XP or above disc.

Those are the only options. If the guys at the shop checked it and said it worked then the CD nor the drive is bad.
