can't type hash

I can't type hash (some call it pound sigh) from my keybnoard, I am using windows XP, how do I type ? I change my keyboard setting to both UK and US still doesn't work.

sorry that is on DOS screen, I was trying to make text file on DOS.

open notepad and try entering the pound, does it work?

you can try banging your keyboard whie holding it upside down to knock some dirt loose. otherwise you'll prolly have to pop off the key and play with the plunger thats underneath it.

Open notepad and press all the symbol keys, all the ones to the left of the characters and the ones on the numbers. See if some are different to what you expected, could be your keyboard mapping has changed.
