Hi all,

I recently helped a friend reformat his HDD and re-install Windows ME. During the install, we forgot to click "CANCEL" during the Windows Password. Now everytime he boots up, he has to click "cancel" so the OS will complete booting.

The thing is, I can't seem to remember how to get rid of that. I remember having to remove a logon password a long time ago by searching for the *.pws files and removing them. I searched my friends computer for any *.pws files, but couldn't find any.

How do I get rid of the logon password?

i think its in the user accounts in control panel. clear the "users must enter a password...." checkbox. also try changing your password. it will ask to type in current password. for the password to be changed to and the pass confimation lines, leave them blank.
