can't install xp cd?

I went from xp to try ubuntu, and ubuntu is good but I had some problems with it and until I sort them out I need to go back to xp
but everytime I boot up the cd it says that it doesn't like the partition.
so I let it delete the partition and make its own, and it says it still doesn't like the partition.

so can't install xp now? what's to be done? is there a more upto date ex boot disk that can create a partition it does like?

you can try

repartition with gparted live cd GParted -- Welcome

or

download the hard drive's manufacturer software to erase the drive

or

save fdisk to a windows boot disk and repartition
