Can't go to desktop!

I turned on my dad's computer today and it went to the blue welcome screen and then it told me to click on a username to continue. Well there isn't an account to click on. Where there should be names, there is nothing. I can do nothing but turn off the computer, restart it, and put it in standy.

I went into safe mode and it went to the same screen. I can't do anything.

Third: Try holding down ctrl and alt and pressing del twice to get a login prompt. Enter the user name and password for one of your administrator account.

When you're back into the desktop, run system restore. If that doesn't work, consider doing a repair.
