Default Can't Download Statements

Up until about August 2004, I had been able to download my bank statements to my hard drive. The bank site had options for Money, Quicken, or spreadsheet (Excel); I would select spreadsheet, the download window would ask if I wanted to Save or Run, I'd save it to a folder, yada yada, the world was beautiful. However, about the time Service Pack 2 came out, it stopped working. Now, when I try it, instead of the download window popping up with choices, "Transferring File" appears in the top left corner of my browser, and the spreadshet opens up in a new web page which cannot be saved or printed. I've checked with my bank and the problem is on my end. If I try Money or Quicken it works, but I don't use either of those pgms. and this is bugging the hell out of me. I've reset all my IE settings to default but no luck. If anybody has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
