So I downloaded this video file off of some p2p network and when I tried to acess it from the p2p network, it wouldn't load, nothing happened. I tried to delete it, same response. So i exit the program, go to the folder, and try to delete. *i press delete* and nothing happens. No error message, nothing. No matter how many times I restart, or go into safe mode, or do wahtever, it won't die. I installed a program to delete things before the OS is loaded or however it works when you restart, and i can't even put the file into that program to schedule it's deletion. Here's an interesting thing:

When I right click the program, the normal smal window pops up with options, but the only ones that appear are ones that do not alter it or move it in any fashion. *I can't drag this file to another folder btw* For a few examples, you can add it to winamps playlist, you can add it to the burn list, you can "open with" you can "play in winamp" etc. but no copy, no cut, nothing useful. It says "send to" and has option to move it to different folders, but of course when i select one, nothing happens. So how do I get rid of this annoying file? I also can't rename it, or do anything. It's only 43 megs, but it has an interesting name I won't describe that means I need to get rid of it badly...

How about from a command prompt? Either in Windows, or Safe Mode command prompt or booting from a boot disk?

what is the file name? how long is it and what is the folder structure to the file?

Okay I tried Killbox, it doesn't work for same reason nothing else works, when inputting the file name you literally can't put it in, cause it just won't appear.

Downloading linux seems like a stretch and my friend says it can't recognize ntfs so i dunno.

I need to know the command prompt command (heh) to delete files, rmdir kills directories, but what are just files?

The file name is giganticly long, and is just a bunch of random porn
words(there i said it, and yes i got owned, so dont bother flaming me i accept the fact) The folder structure? not sure what you are asking me.

Thanks for helping so far.

There is the problem... The file name is too long. This is something I have been seeing more and more of late...

What it the exact path to the file. I'll give you the command to use on it...

ie, C:\documents and settings\username\my documents\downloads.....

That is the path

I'm guessing you downloaded it from UTorrent?

You've tried Safe Mode, correct?

Have you tried scanning the file for viruses?

I did not download it from UTorrent, it was limewire. It's that exact file path,
C:\Documents and Setttings\Bobo\My Documents\download\***.mpg

Do this open up command prompt and navigate to the folder that contain that file and do this example command below to get rid of it.

erase filena~1.mpg

erase is the command, filena is the first 6 letter of the file follow by ~1 then the extenstion.
