I had a computer crash today, and could not get pc to boot, had to reset Mobo and started to re install windows Vista Business 64 bit when I realized it was trying to install on the wrong internal drive, I fixed the C: drive but my F drive is now gone, I can see my other internal the E drive but no F drive which has all my photos.

I caught the mistake when I saw there were only 300 gigs of remaining space on the drive, and its a 1 TB drive, I realized it was a storage drive not the OS drive.

Disk management does not see the drive, how can I get it back?

Is the drive recognized in the BIOS?

Do what mak said, reboot your pc and go into your bios settings, look under hardware setup and see if BOTH show up.
If the hdd you call the F drive isn't showing up, your hdd might be knocked for good.
If thats the case try to RMA your hdd if it's still under warranty.

Also - check cables. I have 4 drives in my system and my computer was magically not finding my 1st one half of the time. I checked BIOS and I would see 3 drives there. When I rebooted it was a 50/50 shot if my PC could recognize it.

Turns out my SATA cable was bad. That was it.

Check connections.
Check cables.
