Default “Can not find the file “msconfig”

No startup programs,

I got this computer form a yard sale and I go to get in to the start up menu Start/run/msconfig/ and it wont let me it says “Can not find the file “msconfig” (or one of its components) Make sure the file path is typed correctly. -

I have been threw this a few times and can not guess to what the hell it is. im sure its a virus, but how to stop it is pissing me off. If you can help me that would be great.

Im on OS Windows 2000 NT and I would say that my own computer skills are 6 on a scale of 1-10. Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

has nothing to do with this issue.

2000 does not come with that utility.

Shawn is right... gah! Did I say that out loud?... Just raggin' ya, man.

If you want a program to use in "msconfig"s place, go here:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...d,46260,00.asp

Win2000 actually needs no other program to start with Windows, unlike all other pre-XP versions. But having your AV, firewall, and such start on startup is a definate plus...
