How do you do tha?. I use my xp home or xp pro cd's to reformatt other people computer when i fix them and it somehow take my serial number off the cd.

then when i activate it, it says wrong number. then i enter the right number (on the side of computer) and it accepts it

it doesn't do this on all computers. but computers like gateway and compaq do

i dont even think the disc came with my comp when i ordered it, i only have the booklet.
go to where you got it

and DEMAND your cd.

A lot of companies do that. when you encounter a problem they want you pay them to fix it. the price of the OS was included in the package, so they owe you that and your motherboard driver cd

if you go in there and talk trash, they will usually give it to you
