Bypassing Bandwidth caps set by ISP

So i'm pretty sure my friend somehow set up a system that would enable him to bypass his ISP's bandwidth limit, Mine is 150 gigs and i use Waaay more than that like 500 a month usually is my minimum, But alas my friend is gone and cant explain how to do this, Do any of you know how to set it up so that i can use more bandwidth without them knowing?
