Default BYPASS Windows

I would like to reformat my windows XP Pro version, its not a legal version and i cant find the disk any way to go about reformating with out a disk

Open a terminal and:
sudo mkdosfs /dev/hda

No it would probaly be

 sudo mkdosfs /dev/hda1
Most hard drives are primaraly hda1. Im a right?

So you want to get rid of the illegal copy on your computer?

That's what format does. You can use anything from 98 to XP floppy boot disk to format the drive.

Killux: just do fdisk -l and you'll know

hda = entire first disk
hda1= first primary partition of first disk

Yes, my bad, /dev/hda1 ... and that is of course if the Windows installation is on the first partition of the first IDE harddrive.

You could also do
cat /proc/partitions
for a shorter list than fdisk -l
