brightness

i currently use 2 monitors for my comp, and i recently upgraded 1 to a bigger version, but for some reason the picture is really dark. iv put up the brightness as high as i can on the monitor itself, but it is still very dark. i remembered my dad having a similar problem but he could just change the gamma in the display properties (he had win98 at the time) i think that this would help my problem, but i cant find the gamma controll in xp... cheers for any help

what card do you have. if you have an nvidia card and the latest drivers just go into the settings and adjust the screen attributes.
