Default Bluetooth adapters?

does anyone know a way to use a peripheral without using the cable to connect it? i keep a lot of files on an external hard drive. its not a bluetooth device. im curious if there is a device to plug into the external hard drive that could turn it into one so that my bluetooth-enabled laptop could pair with it.

What external harddrive do you have? How does it hook up to your computer?

If you have a wireless router, the best thing I can think of is a 'Networked Attached Storage' harddrive. i.e.,
