Blue Screen Error

My buddy's laptop keeps getting the error STOP 0x000008E error followed by (0xc0000005,0x80576F73,0xF6D27988,0x00000000)

The event viewer shows a problem with the WIA process....but I am not sure if this is what is causing it or how to stop it if it is...

I have tried everything , including memtest to rule out bad ram....Any ideas???

It might be a problem with bad hardware drivers. Did he update anything before he got this error? That igh have caused this. Other than that i would say it sounds like a hardware conflict of some kind. It might be memory as most of the articles i read point toward that but it could also point toward USB.
