I am working on an MSI laptop that is stuck in an endless restart loop. When you turn it on it gets to the windows logo with the process bar then flashes a blue screen error then restarts almost instantly. I messed around in the BIOS for a bit and found that the error has to do with the AHCI controller because when i disable AHCI in the BIOS everything starts fine.
Once i got into windows with AHCI disabled i tried to preform a system restore. That dint help.
I then updated the chipset and tried to install the intel AHCI/RAID matrix controller but when i go to install it it says that the hardware setup is incompatible. its a GM965 express chipset and i got the drivers to go with it from intel.
Any more ideas would be appreciated.
EDIT: Forgot to mention safe mode doesn't work either.
