Hey all,

Just bought a new PC with OEM Vista Basic Home Edition.

The specs are more than enough to handle Vista but for some reason when ever I try run applications I get the Blue Screen of Death and my PC reboots.

This is the 2nd time this has happened, the first time I took it back to the store and they thought they fixed it but obviously not.

What sort of diagnostics do you recommend I should run to test the hardware, because I don't believe its Vista thats causing the issue.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

What applications are you trying to run? Are you sure the software is Vista compatable?

Go to the system properties (Windows Key + Pause/Break). Then click "Advanced System Settings" on the left side. Then, in the "advanced" tab, click the Settings button under "Startup and Recovery". Then uncheck the box that says "Automatically Restart". Now click OK to get out of everything. Next time your system comes upon an error, it will not restart. Write down the error information from the BSOD and post it here.
