block stand alone PC

Hello,
i work at retail company, we got about 50 stand alone computers, in stores,(not in domain)
\i want to block them, so they wont be able to change any thing, i cant do it via templets, is there any program that can do this operation for me!

What version of windows? Windows 7 and Vista will allow very granular security - XP not so much...

If they are retail stores, I assume they have internet access - you could put them on a domain and save yourself a ton of hassle.
