Say if I am in win 7 and I have a tri-boot PC and I am backing everything up and it completes successfully. I then have to restore all 3 systems. I install all 3 OS's on their own partition, but then what do I need to do, do I need to go into each partition and into each OS and restore each singularly or do I just restore each partition in win 7 since that is where it was backed up from? :)

thx

It depends on the software used. Some can take a whole drive as is, some can not. So what software are you using???

Acronis true image home 2009. Mak, I am not imaging the drives. Just backing each up from within win 7.

Well my question would be why would you create a backup using software that can make a direct image? A backup you would still have to have a functional system. While it is triple boot that doesnt mean that it will be a functional system.

Plus there is no guarantee that creating the backup within Win7 will allow for you to restore it from Vista or XP.

So really you have to do some research to find out.
