I'm wanting to run a program like VMware to have virtual OS's run in Vista. Right now I am using VMware and it seems to work good but I'm wondering if you guys prefer a different one. My friend says he runs something called parralels (sp?) and he likes it. I'll probably run XP and Ubuntu and maybe some other things.

So is there anything better than VMware?

Hello,

Parrallels is for Mac OS X not Windows. There is Virtual Server from Microsoft. There is also Virtual Box as well.

VirtualBox

Cheers,

In my experience, vmware is the best choice. It's been around a long time and it's stable. VirtualBox is pretty good, but I think vmware has a few more features and it seems to have better support for its virtual hardware. Also, if you have the vmware tools installed, it's a lot smoother and snappier. I will say that virtualbox is easier to set up, though.

If you have Vista Home Premium or lower, you're not even eligible to use Microsoft's Virtual Server software.
