Default Best Back-Up Program/ Method?

I currently don't use any back-up program for my hard drive. I would like to know the easiest program to use or method to do this. I have a DVD burner. Are their any good free back-up programs or should i pay for one; or should i buy an external hard drive back-up??? What is the easiest most cost effective way of doing weekly back-ups of my entire drive. I currently have 28GB used.
Thanks.

i do not like norton either. BUT ghost is a great product. (one of thier every few)

You can also do it the old way and just copy all of your files to either a spare partition or hard drive.

Used Norton anti virus/system works and was a system clog.....plus had to pay every year....now use free Avg and Mozilla.....no problems.

If u think Ghost is the best i will try it..

I have Xp Home.
