Default belkin utility crashing in 2000

ok i have a dual boot set up with 2000 pro and xp pro.I just decided to start using 2000 so i got the driver 4 2000 for my belkin 54g usb reciver but the set up just crashes before anything happens and i get the error.
the program has created errors and will be shut down.wtf it is a fresh install and i cannot run my drivers.

any ideas?

Hm I don't recommend 2K but people seem to think it's a fine OS so maybe others can help you. You mentioned you have XP Pro does it work on that OS?

have you installed your other drivers before the USB device? IE. all your motherboard drivers and everything else?

also, is the driver you're installing made for Win2k?

yes all off that is good but all .exe things wont work I am clueless.

the disc is fine and i tried a repair byt it still wont install any programs.

I don't know about 2000, but don't you need at least xpsp1 for usb 2.0 to work?
