bad block

i was going thru my event log, in one 25 minute span i got approx. 1100 errors in system part of event viewer. every error was the same and it said i have a bad block on hdd. all MS has to say is if this error is logged regularly replace my hdd. but its not logged regularly, it happened ALOT in 25 minutes and then it stopped. what is going on? i realize its only one block but if one block is going then the whole drive could b getting ready to die, is this right or wrong and what should i do, the errors occured over a mth ago

Just out of curiousity, how big is your system paging file?

i cant use that utility cuz i dont have a working floppy and my page file is 700MB constant on d:, however i do have spinrite and have used it on my drive recently. it never reported any bad blocks or sectors.
