Question Backuping system drive

Does anybody knows any free program which could backup my hard drive c:\ partition (create an image file)?
it is a system disk so i believe that program should work in DOS... So i want to backup my c:\ and hold an image file in my other hard drive, so when my windows will die i could format c:\ drive and easily regenerate my windows and other sowtware from that image file...

please help.. thanks..

what you want is noton ghost o. it can clone partitions and restore them. if you look hard enough you can get ghost for free. many motherboards bundle ghost with them. you want at least version 2003 for NTFS. you do not need another hard disk to save images, all you need is a second partition.
