Ok, this is a tough one for me but here's the sutuation.

I have windows xp on a hard drive that was once in a machine that is dead, it has some files I would like to get off it, not to mention registry settings.

I currently have the drive in a externel usb encloser and it registers as the e: partition.

Is there any software out there that will jump in and snag the registry for me to go through at a later date and get things I need?

And also, where to get the firefox bookmarks? since before the computer died I hadnt exported my bookmarks.

I'm not interested in backing up the whole drive, just interested in those two little tidbits.

so, no-one knows anything todo with this? not even getting firefox bookmarks?

bookmark are ijn you local setting apllication data (C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ohavbs81.default\bookmarkbackups).

there some plug in for bart pe that would let you get your registry settings, but why would you want to do that
