Hey guys,

I have a windows 2003 server that is using ntbackup to a NAS we have in the building. It does a daily backup at 1 am from the day previous. This morning I came in to do a daily check on the backups and found it running at 9 am still. It is backing up 100gb takes usually about 1.5 hours. Does anyone know why this is randomly starting a lot latter than usual ?

Thanks,

-B

Are you sure that the time settings are right on the server?

Yeah, the time settings are right on the server. I was miss-reading the log the backup is taking about 6.5 hours to do and the verification is taking another hour and half after that. Its a normal daily backup. It's running on the domain controller, where the user shares are and because people are getting in at 8 o clock they are saying the network is kinda groggy in the morning I'm guessing due to the verification. I am looking at approaching the back-up differently doing either an incremental or differential backup. Anyone have any suggestions ? Does anyone have any suggestions for a more efficient backup Utility thank NTbackup ?
