Hi,

I read on some web sits that you should put an AV and a firewall on all virtual machines. Is that necessary? I have all my PC's behind a NAT firewall already. Should I put both an AV and Firewall on each system? :)

thx

the main reason to use a VM is so that you can test out software. If you put AV and that on there what is the reason? Yes it can get infected. Yes if it is bad enough it can infect the host system as well.

But the truth is do you really think you are going to be doing anything that will require it?

Wanting to install AV and firewall software on every virtual OS installation begs the question of what are you planning to use the virtual systems for?
