Auto updates are failing

Auto updates are failing after installing in a loop? The stupid thing is happening several times a day. If I turn of auto updates the stupid Norton goes happy several times a minute, with you have one thing that needs fixing.
Any one got any ideas on how to fix this problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Forget automatic updates and do it yourself? And trash norton while you are at it? At least, that's what I would do.

have you tried to turn off Norton for the updates?
