Auto Program Choice

Normally on my computer, and most computers, when u select for example a JPEG picture file, it would open that windows picture viewer thingy, well now i double click a JPEG picture (tried lots) and nothing happends, i try multiple times, restart but still nothing, the only way i can open it is to right click and go to OPEN WITH, i've tried always only this type of file with: then i chose the right program, but still no dice.
Any got an idea on how to fix this? with MPEG and AVI files they open by themselves its just pictures.

Get to you folder options. From there select file type. After that comes up go to picture file extensions (bmp, jpeg) and from there you can select what application to use to open pictures when you click on them.
