Brand new to this forum but must say I'm very impressed!
Wonder if anyone could help me with my audio problem:
Very recently, when playing mp3s using WinAmp or peer to peer file sharing programs (in fact it seems like all programs), playback occasionally slows down and blips can also be heard in the music, almost as if the computer is struggling to play the files. Nothing is wrong with the mp3s, they are perfect and the computer isn't slow either - its an Athlon XP 2400+ with 512MB RAM, 120GB SATA drive (which I regularly defragment and hasn't been in use all that long).
I've checked computer for viruses with latest definitions, there is no adware or spyware on PC nor any startup processes that I do not recognise. Can't quite recall if this was the last time PC played music fine but the only changes I have made recently are an upgraded graphics card to ATI Radeon 9600 and installed Microsoft .NET framework so that the ATI catalyst program works.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what I could investigate next or what the problem may be, I'll be enormously grateful,
